2007-09 | SIOM’s
placements have been good since its inception in the year 2005.
Considering the fact that it is only in its fourth year of
establishment, SIOM has made quantum jump in the value the corporate
world is willing to attach to the SIOM’s Techno-Business
Manager. Corporate world has expressed immense
satisfaction and excitement with the SIOM campus, processes of
Knowledge, Attitude and Leadership
creation.
Companies from diverse sectors ranging
from Consulting, IT, ITES, Automotive, Manufacturing, Retail,
Logistics, FMCG, and Banking participated in the placement process.
Profiles offered to the students include ERP consulting, Supply Chain
Consulting, Six Sigma Consulting and Project Management and others.
This year Placement was severely constrained due to
the Economic Slowdown both globally and nationally. The extraordinary
efforts put in by the SIOM Team resulted in Placements. 3 opted out for
their own Ventures.
A total of 36 companies
participated in the placement process out of which 23 were first time
recruiters at SIOM. The Average salary dropped by about 15% compared to
last Year, however the quality of placement was very good like the
previous years. All the students were placed in companies of their
interest, where they could apply their knowledge. With majority of
students opting for Manufacturing, IT/ITES, and consultancy the
placement was inline with the competencies ( Operations/ SCM/ Quality
and Six Sigma/ APICS/ SAP) of the institute.
It’s
also notable that demand for Operations management students has been on
the rise since the last 5 years and the outlook for the future looks
promising for SIOM.
Placements could only be better
and better with every subsequent
batch. |
