If one asks a question “how should a birthday be celebrated?”, then a right answer will be “by giving back something to the society which has given us everything”. Rightfully, the society in which we have lived, has given us a lot that a human being needs for its growth and maturity. So as we grow old with the experiences and learning’s that we receive from the society, we must contribute to its welfare. With this vision, Symbiosis Institute of Operation Management (SIOM), Nasik celebrated the 80th birthday of Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Founder President of Symbiosis by arranging a blood donation camp inside the college campus on 31st July, 2015.
The blood donation camp was organized with the help of Symbiosis Center of Health Care (SCHC).Doctors and trained medical personals, collected blood from enthusiastic students and faculty members of SIOM. Proper pre and post assessment of each donor was done while collecting blood from him/her.
To spread the importance and need of blood donation among students poster making competition was also carried out with the theme “Motivation for Blood Donation”. The art loving and creative students participated in big numbers to fill the blankness of the white papers with emotions, messages and mesmerizing paintings. Posters were put at different places inside the campus to make it livelier with each poster telling its own story.
The blood donation camp concluded at 4 pm after collecting blood for 6 hours from a large no. of socially responsible and caring donors of SIOM. Each drop of blood carried the love, care and respect that the students and staffs of SIOM have for the society.
